Teen Council Community Service and Acts of Kindness

In the Fall of 2012, the Olathe Teen Council became inspired by the Rachel's Challenge Initiative to spread acts of kindness throughout our community. After presentations that they attended at many of their schools, they decided that the 2012-2013 Teen Council was going to focus on community service projects and acts of kindness.

Teen Council Members at the Ronald McDonald House

In January 2013, Teen Council members spent their Saturday giving back by cooking a meal for the families at the Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City. In the Fall of 2012, the Olathe Teen Council made cards for all of the firefighters and police officers to say "Thank You" for keeping our community safe. This is just one of many ways the OTC is spreading acts of kindness throughout our community.

In November 2012, the Olathe Teen Council went "Trick or Treating" for non-perishable items to donate to a local food bank, and they managed to fill a whole trunk in just a couple hours!
