USO Show - 150 Event (Sold-out)

A World War II style USO show will return to the site of the old Olathe Naval Air Station. The largest hanger at what is now the New Century Airport between Olathe and Gardner will open its doors to the "big band" sound of the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra. This swinging band will play your favorite dance tunes from the '30s and '40s, including the great hits from Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, and the Andrews Sisters, to name a few. In addition, there will be World War II military aircraft and memorabilia from the old Olathe Naval Air Station on display.

Dress can be casual or formal, and veterans are encouraged to wear their military uniform.  The Olathe Sesquicentennial Cowbow Boots will be sold at a silent auction and other historic commemoratives will be available during the evening as well.
