The Olathe City Council goes to great lengths to engage residents in the budget process. Believing “it is their money”, the Council feels it is important to hear from as many residents as possible about how it should be spent.
In addition to developing a new interactive website and conducting “budget road shows”, City staff is planning its first public budget outreach session. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, April 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber. It will include a presentation outlining the City’s financial structure and the current budget, provide opportunity for direct input and questions, and showcase the many other opportunities to become involved in the budget process.
Given the challenging economic times, resident input is more important than ever to ensure limited resources are applied to areas that are most important. To learn more about the budget, visit the budget section of the City’s webpage, www.OlatheKs.org, or call (913) 971-6489.
