Elliott Named Outstanding Volunteer
Olathe volunteer Chuck Elliott is named Outstanding Volunteer by the Kansas Recreation and Parks Association. This award is given annually to one outstanding park and recreation volunteer in the entire state of Kansas

American Legion Emergency First Responder of the Year Awards
The American Legion awards Fire Fighters Jim Romano, John Myers and Jason Stenberg the Emergency First Responder of the Year Awards.

HUD "High Performer Status"
The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program employees were given a score of 100%, earning them a "High Performer" status by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which allows them to apply for additional fair share vouchers. The Olathe Public Housing Authority was also awarded "High Performer" status from HUD for receiving an overall score above 90%. The program evaluation was based on four areas: management, financial, quality and upkeep of public housing units and tenant satisfaction

Outstanding Risk Control Award
The Olathe Housing Authority receives an Outstanding Risk Control Award from the Housing Authority Insurance Group for implementing nine risk control standards, resulting in a credit on housing authority insurance premiums
