What is the Olathe Civic Academy?
An in-depth look at municipal government providing an opportunity for citizens to interact with city staff and elected officials.
Ten interactive sessions are led by representatives from all city departments and four public agencies.
Who can participate in the Olathe Civic Academy?
What is the cost of participation?
There is no fee to participate; however, there is a substantial time commitment.
Dinner is provided before each Civic Academy session.
What is expected of participants?
Attendance at all nine Olathe Civic Academy Sessions, one City Council or Planning Commission meeting and graduation at a City Council meeting.
The 2016 Civic Academy is scheduled from Thursday, January 12 through March 9, meeting weekly on Thursday evenings from 5:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will also be a Saturday morning bus tour on March 4, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
