Councilmember Kathleen Huttmann was elected to serve a third term with the City Council in 2005. Kathleen served on the Olathe Planning Commission from November 1999, through April 2001.
In addition, Huttmann served on Olathe's first Strategic Plan Steering Committee and is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Olathe. She currently serves on the:

Goals for Olathe:
- Continue engaging the community in strategic planning to ensure maximum community involvement in decision making and provide a greater community awareness about what is practical and possible.
- Continue maintaining a stable city government with fiscal discipline, while preparing to meet the needs of a changing community.
- Identify ways the city can provide better services and more competition through innovations.
- Capitalize on Olathe residents’ strong community spirit to enhance our quality of life and provide a safe place to live, work and play.
