Wes McCoy - Ward 3

Wes McCoy has been a resident of Olathe for 30 years.  He has been married to his wife, Nancy, for 37 years.  They raised two daughters and they have three grandchildren.

Wes is a firm believer in education.  Their children were educated in the excellent Olathe School District.

Wes graduated from Murray State University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in History and Political Science.

Wes founded his independent insurance agency in 1978.


Community Service:

Served as church Deacon, Elder, Youth Sponsor since 1983
Guatemala missions liaison since 2011

City of Olathe Mahaffie Farmstead Cultural Center Planning Committee 1998-2000
City of Olathe Parks & Recreation funding task force
Established the Rotary Clubs literacy program, “Rotary Readers” with the Olathe school district in 1998

Visionary for medical/dental/clean water initiative in Panama 2001-2007;
