Bob Montgomery

Councilmember Bob Montgomery is serving his third term as a Councilmember at large. He was first elected in 1997 and most recently re-elected in April 2005. He is a self-employed real estate broker and a life-long Olathean.

Montgomery serves on:

  • K-7 Corridor Study, Miami County Line to Leavenworth, Kansas;
  • Liaison for the City of Olathe to Johnson County government;
  • Voting delegate, National League of Cities, Washington, D.C.;
  • Executive Committee, K-10 Association;
  • Olathe Character Council;
  • United Way Allocations Committee; and
  • Board member of Santa Fe Trail Rotary Club, Olathe Noon Optimist and Cypress Recovery.


Olathe Goals:

  • Considering the slowing economic situation the city and state are experiencing, we must be vigilant in identifying efficiencies and cost savings, but we should continue moving forward with needed CIP projects, including addressing the downtown parking needs and plans for a railroad underpass/overpass on Santa Fe.
  • Ensuring the city continues providing basic services at a high level during the economically challenging times.
