New Signs

In order for a sign to be classified as a "New Sign" it must be replacing an existing sign or creating a brand-new sign for an existing or new development.  If you are unsure what category your sign permit falls under, please contact Building Codes with questions at 913-971-7900. The following choices are available for new signs:

Altering Signs

If you are altering an existing sign - for example refacing a cabinet sign with new graphics or using an existing monument sign for signage for a new owner - you will want to choose one of the options below for alterations.  Please note that these signs will need to come into compliance with the most recent Sign Ordinance.  If the sign is being refaced with the exact sign (same colors, style, graphics and text) in the existing cabinet, the City considers this work to be maintenance and does not require a sign permit application.  If you are unsure what category your sign permit falls under, please contact Building Codes with questions at 913-971-7900.
