Olathe Celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day
Hosted by the City of Olathe and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce
Thursday, April 22 ~ 9 am to 6 pm
(In case of inclement weather, the event will be held Friday, April 23- alternate agenda)
Activities will include food, recycling, presentations and information on how to be earth friendly.
Healthridge Fitness Center (17800 W 106th St, Corporate Ridge Business Park)
9 am to 1 pm
Good Neighbors and Good Stewards of the Earth Presentations

Learn how to compost at home at a hands-on presentation by the Johnson County Extension Master Gardeners (and don’t forget to check out their booth for information on Kansas Healthy Yards and Communities!)

Learn how you can use less and save more at home and at your business

Learn about organizations that are making a difference in our community

Hy-Vee grilled burgers from 11 am to 6 pm on south side of Farmer’s Insurance for $5 per person

Buy fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables at a Farmers Market
Recycling and More from 11 am to 6 pm!

Check your gas cap, courtesy of the City of Olathe Municipal Services

Recycle paper, plastic, and aluminum

Get rid of e-waste for a modest fee: the cost for old computers and small electronics is $3; CRT monitors are $10; television sets are $15

Shred old documents at INTRUST Bank between 1 pm and 5 pm

Recycle ink and toner cartridges

Drop off old Cell Phones for recycling

Tour Farmers’ high-tech disaster van (unless they’re disaster bound!)

Put your name in the hat for a free rain barrel donated by KCP&L or an Instant Hot Water pump from Grundfos.

The first 1,200 attendees will receive a reusable tote!

Find green products and services at dozens of booths from earth friendly businesses and organizations
