The City of Olathe's Comprehensive Plan was adopted by the City Council in 1997. The adopted plan provides guidance for the development of the City through the implementation of the future land use plan and adherence to the plans goals and objectives.
The Comprehensive Plan is updated twice a year to reflect changes in land use and goals and policies needed to keep the plan current and applicable.
Since the plan is essentially 10 years old, the City of Olathe, through the use of a Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, will begin reviewing the existing plan in 2007 to determine what, if any, amendments and changes need to be made to the overall plan. Updates to the process and public meetings will be posted on the website.
Corridor and Area Plans
Corridor and area plans are important subsections of the Comprehensive Plan. The corridor and area plans examine specific areas in greater detail to identify land uses, buffers, parks, trails, infrastructure and other development specifics which will ensure high quality, compatible, consistent development. The list of adopted corridor and area plans are located on our website.
The adopted land use map can be seen here: Comprehensive Plan Map
