The Cedar Creek area is located south of K-10, west of K-7, and generally north of 119th Street. The City is studying ways to ensure that Cedar Creek continues to develop in a manner that serves both the needs of the existing residents and the new Cedar Creek owners. The City, in conjunction with residents and property owners, is considering a number of different methods to accomplish this goal. These methods include the possibility of updating the existing Cedar Creek area plan or “Green Book,” creation of restrictive covenants, and the implementation of an overlay district.
Comprehensive Plan Update
On June 12th, the City Council directed the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee to begin working on a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the updating and revising of the Comprehensive Plan.
The last major revision to the City’s Comprehensive Plan was in 1997. The City has begun evaluating the possibile need for another major revision of the Comprehensive Plan. Beginning in 2007, the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee will review the existing document and make a recommendation to the Planning Commission and City Council on the scope of revisions for the Comprehensive Plan. Updates to the process will be posted on the website.
An RFP (Request for Proposal) for the updating of the City's Comprehensive Plan has been issued. The deadline for submitting responses to the RFP is January 15, 2007. A complete copy of the RFP can be accessed through the City's Purchasing Department and clicking on the Current Bid Opportunities link.
