Welcome to Neighborhood Planning!
The responsibilities of Neighborhood Planning include fostering neighborhood alliances, preserving and enhancing developed neighborhoods, empowering neighbors and partnering with residents for the improvement of their area.
Neighborhood Planning implements the goals and objectives of the City's Strategic Plan, Original Town Enhancment Plan, prepares neighborhood action plans and aids in the facilitation of neighborhood groups.
Additional functions include preparing architectural reviews, coordinating historic preservation efforts and implementing the neighborhood revitalization program.
Neighborhood Planning also works very closey with Downtown and Long Range Planning through the establishment of Neighborhood Planning Areas, and the implementation of the Envision Olathe Downtown Plan and the City's Comprehansive Plan.
