The Mahaffie-Westerfield neighborhood is located within the north-eastern potion of Olathe's Original Town area.
An organizational meeting for the Mahaffie-Westerfield neighborhood was held Monday, October 1, 2007 at Northview Elementary School.

Established in 1996 by the Original Town Enhancement Plan, where the Mahaffie and Westerfield Neighborhoods were separate. Due to low population in the Westerfield area, it was combined with the Mahaffie Neighborhood in the 2004 update of the Original Town Enhancement Plan.
North boundary: 127th Street/ Harold

South boundaries: Spruce from Kansas Ave to Kansas City Road, Kansas City Road from Spruce to Keeler, Santa Fe from Keeler to I-35
West boundary: Kansas Ave/ Northgate from Spruce to Harold
