The Financial operation of the City of Olathe is the responsibility of the Resource Management Department, which works with the City Council, city manager and city departments to coordinate financial services and analysis.  Key functions and services include:  

  • Management of the procurement of goods and services for the entire City by the Procurement Office.

  • Development of the annual operating and capital budgets and 5 Year Capital Improvement Plan for submission by the City Manager to the City Council is the responsibility of the Budget Office.  In order to produce a fiscally sound budget for an upcoming fiscal year, the Budget Office consistently monitor and analyze the activities of the current fiscal year as well as those of prior fiscal years to detect trends in both revenue and expenditure categories which may have an impact on future budgets.
  • The Office of Performance Management partners with all City of Olathe departments to develop strategies and deploy measurement tools to track financial and operational processes. These partnerships leverage knowledge and expertise across the City and through using a variety of analytical, statistical, and investigative techniques, the office supports departments achievement of Organizational Scorecard goals and provides top of the line internal consulting services.
