A public works residential final grading inspection will be needed prior to the issuance of the certificate of occupancy (CO). Schedule the inspection with the Public Works Department at 913-971-9045.
All permanent addresses must be posted on each building site (visible from the street). Failure to post will incur a postponed inspection and a re-inspection fee imposed on the permit.
All approving departments are required to make a final inspection and qualify this project for a certificate of occupancy. Requests will be scheduled through the Building Codes Division 913-971-7900 except the fire marshal. The fire marshal may require as much as three days notice. Please call them directly at 913-971-7900.
After approving departments have reported their inspection results, Building Official will determine if a TCO (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy) or CO can be issued. If any one of these departments deems a TCO necessary, project will only be eligible for a TCO based upon scope of work (no life safety items) and expiration date for work to be completed, meet compliancy and achieve a full CO.
