Fire Fighter - The City of Olathe, Kansas is seeking qualified individuals to be responsible for extinguishing and preventing fires, providing rescue, and emergency medical assistance to victims, prevention and code duties, and conducting basic fire inspections.  Applicants must have a HS diploma/GED, valid driver's license, current National and/or Kansas EMT or EMT-P certification, Fire Fighter I and II certificates.  Preference will be given to candidate that have current EMT-P, fire service, or paramedic experience, fire science degree, or related degree.  Must have a current CPAT certification at the time of hire.  If not currently CPAT certified, local testing available through the Johnson County Community College.  Must have successfully completed the XNF 3001, Fire Service Entrance Examination.  This written examination can be scheduled, by contacting Johnson County Community College Continuing Education and Community Services at (913) 469-8500 x3827.  Hiring process also includes an oral board interview, psychological evaluation, extensive background investigation and post offer-employment physical and drug screen.  Salary: for Firefighter $35,100/yr., Firefighter/Paramedic $35,100/yr., plus $6,192 for EMT-P certification.  Application Deadline: Open until filled.
