Position Details

Senior Utilities Engineering Technician (Civil Design) (Job ID: 108029)

Municipal Services

Coordinates, investigates, manages, and supervises the design and construction of projects associated with water and sanitary sewer systems. Manage water and sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects, along with preparation of cost estimates, pay estimates, drafting, design, plan preparation, specifications, and contracts. Knowledge of design and construction principles and practices relative to water and sewer design; GIS with the use of ESRI software; and City of Olathe Technical Standards as applied to water and sewer utility design is necessary. A combination of eight (8) years of experience through education and/or experience in Civil Engineering, Project Management, CADD or related fields is required. Must have excellent computer, communication and customer service skills. Associates Degree with major course work in civil engineering required. Training in civil engineering design, drafting, surveying, construction inspection and management, or a related field is preferred.
