Deferred Loan Program - Olathe homeowners who need to make major repairs to their homes may apply for an interest free - 0% - Housing rehabilitation loan. Eligibility for these loans are based upon home equity with the maximum loan allowable being $40,000. There are no monthly payments; the loan is deferred until the property is sold, title transfers, or property is turned into a rental.
Emergency Repair Program - Income eligible homeowners can apply for repairs that if left undone would pose a threat to their health and safety such as collapsed sewer, damaged roof, furnace etc. Exterior Maintenance can be addressed for homeowners cited through the city's Community Enhancement Division
Handicap Accessibility Program - Income eligible homeowners with physical limitations may apply for a grant to remove structural barriers from their home.
Snow Brigade/ Spring Clean- Up – Elderly and/or disabled residents may enroll in this program to request snow removal for accumulation amounts of two (2) or more inches.The Spring Projects are random repairs or clean-up around the house that a person might need (ex. gutters cleaned, trim or house painted, leaves raked. ect..). Services and turn around time are contingent upon availability of volunteers.
Product Reuse Program – The Product Reuse Program is operated by the City's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program and offers reusable products from people who no longer need them to other residents who do. It's located at the HHW Facility, 1420 S. Robinson Rd.
