Deferred Loan Program - Olathe homeowners who need to make major repairs to their homes may apply for an interest free - 0% - home improvement loan. Eligibility for these loans are based upon home equity with the maximum loan allowable being $35,000. There are no monthly payments; the loan is deferred until the property is sold, title transfers, or property is turned into a rental.  

Emergency Repair Program - Income eligible homeowners can apply for repairs that if left undone would pose a threat to their health and safety such as collapsed sewer, damaged roof, furnace etc.

Exterior Maintenance Program – Income eligible homeowners cited through the city’s Property Maintenance Division who do not have the financial resources to make the necessary repairs can apply for assistance to correct the violation.

Elderly Homeowner Assistance - Elderly Homeowners who are physically or financially unable to maintain their homes may apply for assistance with simple general maintenance with little or no expense to them.  Local volunteers may be available for assistance.

Handicap Accessibility Program - Income eligible homeowners with physical limitations may apply for a grant to remove structural barriers from their home. 

Snow Brigade – Elderly and/or disabled residents may enroll in this program to request snow removal for accumulation amounts of two (2) or more inches.  Services and turn around time are contingent upon availability of volunteers.

Product Reuse Program –  The Product Reuse Program is operated by the City's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program and offers reusable products from people who no longer need them to other residents who do.  It's located at the HHW Facility, 1420 S. Robinson Rd. 

Home Remodeling Loan Program - There are no income restrictions on this program. The City has partnered with MARC and Community America to offer homeowners a low-interest fixed rate home equity loan with a one-time advance to do all the updates you want.  There are no restrictions on what improvements you make.  You can do the work yourself or hire a contractor of your choice.  Loan amounts are from $5,000 up to $30,000 depending on your equity available.  Homes must be owner-occupied with an appraised value not to exceed $250,000.   For more information on the MARC Home Remodeling Loan Program contact Community America at 913.905.6629 or marc.org/loanprogram.
