Deferred Loan Program - Olathe homeowners who need to make major repairs to their homes may apply for an interest free - 0% - Housing rehabilitation loan. Eligibility for these loans are based upon home equity with the maximum loan allowable being $40,000. There are no monthly payments; the loan is deferred until the property is sold, title transfers, or property is turned into a rental.
Emergency Repair Program - Income eligible homeowners can apply for repairs that if left undone would pose a threat to their health and safety such as collapsed sewer, damaged roof, furnace etc. Exterior Maintenance can be addressed for homeowners cited through the city's Community Enhancement Division
Accessibility Modification Program - Income eligible homeowners with physical limitations may apply for a grant to remove structural barriers from their home.
Snow Brigade - Elderly and disabled residents may request snow removal for accumulation of snow amounts of two or more inches.
Volunteers provide snow removal for elderly and disabled Snow Brigade residents within 24 to 48 hours after snow accumulates two inches or more. Submit a volunteer application.
Call 913-971-8788 to request an application for snow removal service on your property. Applications are processed from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30 to determine qualification for elderly and disabled persons.
Product Reuse Program – The Product Reuse Program is operated by the City's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program and offers reusable products from people who no longer need them to other residents who do. It's located at the HHW Facility, 1420 S. Robinson Rd.
Spring Clean- Up -The Spring Projects are random repairs or clean-up around the house such as clean gutters, trim or paint house, rake leaves, etc.) Services and turn around time are contingent upon availability of volunteers. Weatherization Program - The Johnson County Weatherization Program provides assistance to income eligible residents of Johnson County in making their homes more comfortable, safe and energy efficient.
