Olathe Human Relations Commission

The Olathe Human Relations Commission (OHRC) is an 11-member volunteer board dedicated to fostering understanding and cooperation among diverse groups in the Olathe community.  

The OHRC is committed to fostering an atmosphere of inclusion by ensuring that all citizens enjoy an equal opportunity and access to employment, housing, and public accommodations regardless of color, disability, gender, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation familial and/or socio-economic status.

  • The OHRC advises and consults with the Olathe City Council and the city manager on matters involving racial, religious or ethnic discrimination.
  • The OHRC recommends to the Olathe City Council and the city manager measures designed to eliminate prejudice and discrimination.
  • The OHRC promotes and encourages communications between all groups interested in bettering community relations.
  • The OHRC partners with the Person's With Disabilities Advisory Board (PDAB) to present Community and Accessible Community Awards.

The OHRC meets the fourth Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the City of Governors Conference Room, located in City Hall at 100 East Santa Fe.
