Preserved as a public historic site, the Mahaffie home is the only stagecoach stop remaining on the Santa Fe Trail!

As one of the most unique historic sites in the bi-state area, the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm serves as a centerpiece to the region's history.  The stone farmhouse built by James and Lucinda Mahaffie in 1865 served as a stagecoach stop on the Westport Route of the Santa Fe, Oregon, and California Trails. Listed on both the National and Kansas Registers of Historic Places, the Mahaffie Historic Site is also recognized by the National Park Service as an official component of the Santa Fe National Historic Trail.

Join us in caring for this survivor from the days of the western trails! The Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, created in 1998. Your membership in the Friends of Mahaffie supports our public programming, and the preservation of this important historic site. Mahaffie is now on the threshold of a new and exciting era, with the development of a visitor center/heritage facility and expanded living history activities. Along with your membership, please consider volunteering for events, programs, and daily activities at Mahaffie.

Your membership entitles you to free admission for tours and special events at Mahaffie, a 10% discount in the site gift shop, and free stagecoach tickets redeemable in the calendar year. Newsletters and electronic mailings will keep you updated on events and programs at the site. Friends of Mahaffie are also invited to attend a special members-only, family-oriented annual picnic at the site as a signature benefit of membership.

Family Membership - $75 (immediate family in one household)
Free admission for house tours and special events, newsletters/mailings, 10% gift shop discount, six free stagecoach tickets, attendance for six at the annual picnic.
