Admission

Regular daily admission applies: $6 for adults, $4 for kids age 5-11 and kids age 4 and under get in free. Some games and activities have an additional fee. Download this coupon for a free child's admission.

Parking

Free event parking with a shuttle to Mahaffie will be available at nearby Olathe North High School, 600 E. Prairie St.
Handicapped accessible parking will be available at the Mahaffie Heritage Center.

FREE activities, included with admission are:

Stagecoach rides (brought to you by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitors Bureau)
Chuckwagon Cook Off on Saturday (brought to you by the Olathe Sesquiecentennial Committee), chuckwagons begin cooking at daybreak and will be finished by noon. Samples will be given on a first come first serve basis. The public can vote for their favorite categories off the back porch of the Mahaffie home. Food categories include: meat, potatoes, beans, bread, coffee and dessert.
Old-time photo gallery - dress up like the cowboys and have your image preserved by photograph (fee applies).

Children's Activities

Kids of all ages can participate in many kids activities! Activities with an * carry an extra fee.

Panning for REAL gold*
Target practice in the air gun shooting gallery (ages 8 and up)*
Visit the cowboy camps
Participate in contests with the Gunsmoke and Petticoats group
Play 19th Century games and chores
Meet lots of cowboys and horses
Petting zoo (brought to you by Y-H)
Rope a "steer"
Fees for each activity range from $2-$5 per activity. Tickets can be purchased at the Children's Mercantile on the grounds or at the gift shop in the Heritage Center.

Mutton Busting

Little buckaroos weighing 50 pounds or less can ride a sheep during our Mutton Busting event Saturday begining at 12:30 p.m. Little buckaroos must register on the day of the event in the Heritage Center beginning at 10 a.m. the day of the event. Please wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt and sturdy shoes to participate in Mutton Busting. Registration is limited to 50 buckaroos or less. Sponsored by the Prairie Moon 4-H Club.

Performances

Again this year as you wait for your stagecoach ride, the entertainment comes to you! Additional scheduled performances will be held in the Mahaffie arena.
