Summer Concert Cancelled Due to High Probability of Rain and/or Thunderstorms

Olathe, (Kan)-Based on the high probability of rain or thunderstorms, tonight's Summer Concert featuring the Elders and the Wilders is being cancelled.

The City has been in contact with the weather service since 5:00 a.m. this morning. According to forecasts, there is a very high probability of rain and a high probability for thunderstorms including potential lightening and hail this evening.

Keeping residents safe is the City's priority, and city staff closely monitors weather that could impact City events such as the Summer Concert series. The City will error on the side of caution to ensure residents and visitors are safe.

The City regrets any inconvenience, and hopes residents understand the responsible steps are being taken to ensure their safety.

As the event is late in the season, it will not be rescheduled this year.

The two remaining free summer concerts feature Sam Bush and Chris Hillman on July 11th and Beatles tribute band, Liverpool on July 25th. Both concerts begin at 7:00 at Frontier Park in Olathe.
