City staff is monitoring traffic at area secondary schools to consider options to improve the traffic flow. 

With new students at all junior high schools and senior high schools, drivers are developing a familiarity for the traffic flows during the first few days of the school year and steps have been made for improvement.  Those steps include:

• adding dedicated parent drop-off lanes
• separating the bus and parent/student traffic
• installing additional signage to guide drivers (which will be monitored for size and height adjustment as needed)
• providing more striping to help guide and separate left turning vehicles where needed

The City will continue evaluating traffic at area secondary schools over the first few weeks of the school year to determine any changes that may need to be made to traffic movement.
