Fall Events at Mahaffie

Join the Fall Harvest at Mahaffie in October
Fall harvest is the theme in October at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm, 1200 Kansas City Road in Olathe. Visitors can help make apple butter, apple cider, pick corn, saw wood, prepare wheat for threshing, and (of course) ride the stagecoach. The Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop is open Wednesday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4:00 p.m. Harvest-themed living history activities will be offered weekends in October. Tuesday through Friday visitors may tour the Mahaffie house, explore the grounds and view the Heritage Center museum exhibit.

In honor of the fall harvest, visitors may bring in two non-perishable food items to receive $1 off admission. The food will be collected and delivered to a local food pantry at the end of the month.

Trick or Treat Off the Street
Little ones will enjoy trick or treating in costume on the historic Mahaffie grounds during the site’s Trick or Treat Off the Street from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30. Admission is $3 per person for all ages; registration is not required. Local community groups will be on the grounds distributing candy, and visitors can participate in several games and activities. If your group is interested in handing out candy at the event, please call Mahaffie at (913) 971-5111.
