Residents are encouraged to dine out from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, when more than 20 Olathe restaurants will participate in the second annual “Dining Out for Kids” fundraiser to benefit the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund.
Participating restaurants will donate 10 percent or more of their dinner proceeds to the fund. This year’s campaign goal is $100,000.
The 2012 Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund will benefit 14 local charities serving Olathe children and families. They are: Catholic Charities, Children’s Shoe Fund, Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Cypress Recovery, El Centro, Health Partnership Clinic of Johnson County, Johnson County Interfaith Hospitality Network, Kansas Foster and Adoptive Children, KidsTLC, KVC Behavioral HealthCare, Mission Southside, Olathe Public Schools Foundation, SAFEHOME and the Salvation Army.
A complete list of restaurants participating in “Dining Out for Kids” is available on the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund website. No flyer or coupon is necessary.
