The City of Olathe is seeking volunteers for the Snow Brigade. The program matches volunteers with elderly and/or disabled residents to assist with snow removal from driveways and sidewalks. Volunteers are assigned one or more resident locations to remove snow from the driveway and/or sidewalk when there is two inches of snow or more.
All individual volunteers must complete a volunteer application and undergo a background check before resident location assignments are made. Currently, 16 residents have requested assistance and that number is likely to increase when additional requests are made after the first snowfall.
Interested volunteers are encouraged to visit the volunteer page of the City’s website or call 971-6274.
