Olathe residents can now receive direct messages about impending emergencies in Olathe and surrounding Johnson County with the launch of NotifyJoCo, a free, mass communications system that sends alerts about incidents from evacuations to water outages, via phone, text or email.

The City will take requests for bulk pickup of debris from the recent two winter storms at no charge through Friday, March 8.

Winter Storm Update on Feb. 27

Crews have made tremendous progress since snow removal operations moved into residential areas less than 24 hours ago.  All residential straight streets are now considered passable and Cul-de-sacs will be passable this evening.  Snow removal operations will continue as long as necessary.

Compost Facility, Transfer Station Open Wednesday

The Compost Facility at 127th and Hedge Lane will be open on Wednesday to accept storm damaged limbs and trees.  No charge for Olathe residents with Olathe utility bill and matching ID.  Non-Olathe or commercial loads will have a charge.

The Transfer Station will also be open regular schedule on Wednesday.

Solid Waste Collection Delayed One Day Through The Week

Trash and recycling curbside collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
 

Joint Release from Cities of Lenexa, Olathe, Overland Park, and Shawnee

Crews from the cities of Lenexa, Olathe, Overland Park and Shawnee continue working non-stop to clear snow from city streets.  Each jurisdiction has made significant progress clearing arterial streets.
