Youth Volunteer Week June 3-7

Olathe Parks and Recreation is gearing up for Youth Volunteer Week, June 3-7. This program is designed for middle school and high school students to get out in the parks and earn service hours. Projects and location sites will vary each day.

Storm Debris Pick-up

Due to Sunday’s storms, the City of Olathe will take bulk pick-up requests for storm debris collection this week only.  The free bulk pick-up service will occur on your regular collection day.

Santa Fe to Close for Weekend Improvements in Downtown

Portions of Santa Fe will close this weekend for paving improvements associated with the ongoing Streetscape Project in downtown Olathe.

Cherry Street to Kansas City Road will be closed Saturday, May 18th.  Cherry Street to the west RR tracks will close on Sunday, May 19th weather pending.  Detours will be provided during this time.

Indian Creek Trail Detour Planned

Beginning in early June, sections of Indian Creek trail between Black Bob and Pflumm will be closed to accommodate construction of the 127th Street Improvement project.  Detours will be provided.

The City of Olathe is pleased to announce the release of the 2013 Water Quality Report, now available at Water Quality.

Mahaffie Croquet Tournament, June 7

Teams are forming now for the fourth annual Mahaffie Sunflower Wickets croquet tournament on Friday, June 7 at the Olathe North High School soccer fields located near the Mahaffie Historic site. 

Keep Kids Busy This Summer

Summer program enrollment is underway for numerous activities in Olathe.  Programs range from sports to science with great activities to fit a variety of interests throughout the summer.

Olathe Public Works Receives Second Reaccreditation

The City of Olathe’s Public Works Department has recently been awarded a second prestigious American Public Works Association (APWA) Reaccreditation.  The APWA Reaccreditation program recognizes public works agencies that go beyond the management practices requirements established nationally in the public works industry.

Community Partnership Bringing Unique Sports Field to Olathe

Olathe will soon be home to one of four adaptive baseball fields in the Greater Kansas City area. Located at the Olathe Public Schools’ College Boulevard Activities Complex (CBAC) it will become the home of The Miracle League of Olathe program.

City of Olathe Housing Waitlist Opens May 1

The City of Olathe Housing Authority will open the waiting list for housing assistance both online and at the office at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1.
