Consolidated Solid Waste Collection

One Day to Remember

The City now provides residents with one consolidated collection day for all solid waste services - trash, yard waste and recycling. This replaces our old system of collecting yard waste on Mondays and trash and recycling Tuesdays through Fridays. Yard waste and recycling continue to be collected separately from household trash. The only difference is that residents now set out all materials at the curb on the same day of the week.

Why was this change needed?
Route consolidation enables the City to collect more waste with fewer trucks and drivers - helping to keep rates low. The City has outgrown its ability to collect all yard waste citywide in one day. By spreading the yard waste collection over the week and rebalancing trash and recycling routes, we can better utilize our trucks and drivers - helping us manage future rate increases as the city continues to grow.
