Downtown Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit

The Downtown Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit was designed to provide the community with a unique outdoor sculptures exhibit. Located in the Original Town Core Area, the exhibit hosts a variety of works, introducing the community to many streams of artistic approaches. The idea behind DOSE is to offer an opportunity for artists to participate in a jurored sculpture competition. From the entries, 6-8 sculptures are selected for installation at sites located throughout the Original Town Core area of Olathe for a period of one year. The exhibit is a self-guided tour. The 2011 budget for the program is $7500 which covers the cost of the entire program; juror, artist stipends for their exhibit, brochures, signage and call for entry information.

The city also provides $5000 for programming costs for production of the “Arts in Olathe” Channel 7 television program which features events and information on arts organizations in Olathe.
