The City of Olathe and Olathe District Schools have teamed up to bring you an intramural basketball program that provides an environment which emphasizes fun, safety, participation, skills development and sportsmanship. Games will be played Saturdays at Olathe District gyms. Parent coach is required. If interested complete the coaches application.
KSHAA # of Players Per Team Guidelines - From the first Tuesday following Labor Day through the last Friday preceding Memorial Day, their are limitations on the number of athletes from the same school squad that may practice or participate together on the same outside team in many sports. The limits are no more than 3 players in basketball, 6 players in football, 6 players in soccer, 5 players in softball, 5 players in baseball and 4 players in volleyball. It is important to note that the rule refers to "same school squad" not "same school." As a result, in basketball for instance, 3 varsity players can be paired with 3 junior varsity players from the same school. However, a player is considered to be a part of a certain school athletic team is he/she enters into a game for any length of time. It is entirely possible, and quite probable, for a player to be a member of two or more squads in the same sport. For instance, if a youngster plays on the junior varsity basketball team but suits up for and then enters the last 30 seconds of a varsity contest, they will be considered both a varsity and junior varsity basketball player for the purposes of this guideline; not just one team or the other.
