Olathe TrailblazersCoordinating the Olathe Special Olympics program is the responsibility of Olathe Parks & Recreation, the Olathe Booster Club and the Olathe Unified School District. Program: The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year round training and athletic competition in a variety of well-coached Olympic-type sports activities for individuals, with developmental delays. Purpose: By providing our athletes with the continuing opportunity to develop physical and mental fitness, we find it helps to prepare them for entry into school and community programs. The joy they experience while participating, making friends, and sharing experiences is unsurpassed in other areas of their lives. Provide A Ride CampaignAre you ready to make a difference? Special Olympics Olathe has kicked off the "Provide A Ride Campaign". To purchase a shuttle bus that will provide transportation in order for Special Oympics athletes to participate in travel, athletic or social events that we enjoy on a daily basis.
