Is your student looking for community service hours? OPRD is sponsoring projects ranging from painting to landscaping in several different parks and public areas in Olathe.

To register, click on the appropriate code below or call 913-971-9720. 

Projects include (you can choose one or all of the projects):

20303: Monday, June 6: Prairie Center Park (general grounds maintenance)
20304: Tuesday, June 7: Heritage Center (general grounds maintenance and gardening)
20305: Wednesday, June 8: Olathe Memorial Cemetery (paint perimeter fence, general grounds maintenance)
20306: Thursday, June 9: Black Bob Park (general grounds maintenance)
20307: Friday, June 10: Two Trails Park (paint and general grounds maintenance

Where do you fit in?
The Volunteers in the Parks program offers great community projects, providing visible, worthwhile results. Many opportunities are available for school groups, church groups, and civic or service oriented organizations. To get started, fill out a City of Olathe Volunteer Application.

Example Projects:

• Picking up trash
• Adopting a trail or park
• Painting park equipment and accessories
• Landscaping and gardening
• Improving habitat for fish and wildlife
