Citizens Police Academy

 

We are now accepting applications for the 18th class of the Olathe Citizens Police Academy being held in Fall 2012

Apply online for The Citizens Police Academy.  The nine-week academy consists of classroom time, hands on displays, and a ride along with an Olathe police officer.  Citizens have the opportunity to interact with department personnel holding various assignments including: Patrol, Investigations, Tactical Support Unit, Canine Unit, Traffic Unit and many other areas.

This program is not an accredited certification course to become a sworn police officer.

Applicant Requirements:
Be at least 18 years old
Have never been convicted of a felony crime
Be a resident, or own or manage a business in Olathe
Make a solid time commitment to attend the Academy
 

Citizens Academy Dates:

Thursdays 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
September 20th, 2012 through and concluding on November 15th, 2012.

The class size is limited to 30 participants.  All intererested persons must complete an application and give permission for the Olathe Police Department to run a criminal history check.

The Citizens Police Academy is sponsored by the Olathe Police Department and the Citizens Police Advisory Council (CPAC).
