Heritage Trail

Project Location/Limits:
From Heritage Park to Black Bob Park.

Project Scope:
This will be a 10' asphalt trail running from Heritage Park to Black Bob Park.   The trail will be located on the far east side of Heritage Park where it will cross the intersection of Pflumm and 159th Street.  It will then continue west, on the north side of 159th and then continue north through the open green space of the Reserve at Heritage subdivision.  Continuing to the west along the power line easement of Symphony at the Reserve and Nottingham at Heritage Park, then north through Manor Park and Parkhill Manor.  The trail will cross 151st street into Black Bob Park at Gallery.   The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is funding 80% of the construction costs through their transportation enhancement funds.  Johnson County Parks and Recreation district and the City of Olathe Parks sales tax fund is sharing the remaning 20% of the cost.

Current Project Status:
Construction began in September.  Grading, trail layout is underway with asphalt laid through Heritage Park.  Grading and rock is down on the northern part of the trail.  Concrete extension are installed along the northern cul-de-sacs.  A stop work order was issued on December 23, 2009 with work beginnng again on March 15, 2010.  The project is scheduled to be substantially completed in June.

Total Project Cost: $1,139,430.00
