Project Scope:
The City of Olathe, Public Works Department is currently preparing an alignment study and engineering design for a 48” Raw Water Transmission Main from the City’s new Collector Well 5 to Water Treatment Plant 2. The transmission main will be approximately 20,000 linear feet.   The Raw Water Transmission Main Improvement project will help keep up with the growing city water demands. By the year 2020, water demands are projected to be more than 25% higher than our daily requirements today. OMS Technical Support staff is also addressing the increased needs in treated water supply and treatment plant facility requirements.

This project will be completed in two phases. Phase I services will be to perform an alignment study and prepare a preliminary alignment report.  Phase 2 services will include the final design, preparation of construction cost estimates, finalization of the required easements, and preparation of all necessary specifications and permits to achieve bid ready documents. Black and Veatch Engineering is the design consultant.

Current Project Status:
Currently under Construction. Scheduled for completion Spring of 2012.
