The City of Olathe has commissioned a study to examine flooding issues throughout the City that were identified as part of the recently completed countywide FEMA floodplain map update. The new floodplain maps identify areas of existing and potential flood risk zones.
The City believes that it is extremely important to provide our residents with the best available information on known flood risk zones. The study will more accurately define the areas that are at greatest risk for flooding and help us plan future improvement projects that address flooding problems throughout the City.
Questions regarding flooding can be directed to the Stormwater Engineer at (913) 971-8505 or email: kadams@olatheks.org, or visit our project website at www.olathewatershed.com.
