Freedom in Kansas After Emancipation - Cancelled
Learn about the rich history and contributions of African-Americans in Kansas and Olathe and promote cultural awareness and unity during the 2008 African-American History Month Lecture Series.
The sessions, presented by Mid-America Nazarene University and the City of Olathe, will be at the Bell Cultural Events Center, 2000 Pioneer Blvd., on the campus of the university. The sessions are free and open to the public.
During the Feb. 5 session, discover experiences of African-Americans who journeyed to Kansas after Emancipation looking for freedom.
