Consolidated Solid Waste Collection

One Day to Remember

The City now provides residents with one consolidated collection day for all solid waste services - trash, yard waste and recycling. This replaces our old system of collecting yard waste on Mondays and trash and recycling Tuesdays through Fridays. Yard waste and recycling continue to be collected separately from household trash. The only difference is that residents now set out all materials at the curb on the same day of the week.

Olathe Human Relations Commission

The Olathe Human Relations Commission meets the fourth Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the City of Olathe Lone Elm Room (Olathe City Hall, 100 E. E-Waste Recycling Program (More options, lower fees!)

Olathe residents wanting to recycle their old household computers and other electronics are able to do so through the City's E-Waste Recycling Program. This program is available to Olathe residential sanitation customers only.  Download a copy of the program flier.

Dennis Avenue Bridge Construction to Begin March 3

 

The City of Olathe's project to replace the Dennis Avenue Bridge over Little Cedar Creek in west Olathe is planned to begin on March 3, 2008.  The bridge will be closed to traffic until the project is completed in early to mid August.

Mahaffie Heritage Center Dedication & Ribbon-cutting

Olathe Mayor Michael Copeland, the Olathe City Council, local legislators, City of Olathe staff and the community will attend the dedication and ribbon-cutting for the Mahaffie Heritage Center, 1200 Kansas City Road. Attendees will be able to tour the new facility and the exhibit area. Parking will be available across the street from the Heritage Center at Stagecoach Park. Mahaffie Heritage Center Grand Opening

The grand opening event for the Mahaffie Heritage Center, 1200 Kansas City Road, will give residents and visitors a chance to tour the new facility, view historical exhibits, ride the stagecoach, and watch cooking demonstrations. The event is free to the public.
