Board of Code Review
Purpose:  To review building trade licenses and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the adoption or amendment of various building codes.
Members:  7
Term:  4 years
Meetings:  As needed; no set meeting time

Board of Housing Commissioners
Purpose:  To plan, construct, maintain, operate, and manage subsidized housing units for low-income residents.
Members:  5
Term:  4 years

Board of Zoning Appeals
Purpose: To receive, hear, and decide appeals to official decisions pertaining to zoning requirements, and to consider applications for variances.
Members: 5
Term: 3 years
Meetings: 2nd Thursday, if there are pending matters to hear.

Citizens Police Advisory Council
Purpose: To serve as liaisons between the Police Department and Olathe citizens; to study, recommend, and review police programs designed to improve understanding and communication between the police and the community.
Members: 11
Term: 3 years
Meetings: 1st Thursday, 7:00 p.m., Public Safety Building, Training Room, 501 E. 56 Highway

Human Relations Commission
Purpose: To recommend and undertake activities to foster understanding and cooperation among the diverse groups in the Olathe community; to uphold the City of Olathe's ordinance against discrimination in housing and public accommodations.

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Foundation Board
Purpose: To preserve and advocate for the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Historic Site, generating and ensuring resources toward a successful community centerpiece.
Members: 9-17
Term: 4 years
Meetings: 1st Monday every other month, 6:00 p.m., Heritage Center, 1200 Kansas City Road

Olathe Historic Preservation Board
Purpose: To advise the City Council on historic resources, help safeguard Olathe's architectural and cultural heritage, and make recommendations concerning a City-wide historic preservation plan.
Members: 7
Term: 3 years

Olathe Library Board
Purpose: To oversee the operation of the City's library.
Members: 8 (includes one ex-officio)
Term: 4 years
Meetings: 3rd Wednesday, 4:00 p.m., Olathe Public Library, 201 E. Park

Parks and Recreation Foundation Board
Purpose: To advise on construction, reconstruction, and improvement of public parks and recreation facilities, including the acquisition of land for park purposes, the acquisition of major recreational equipment and facilities, and the establishment of new City recreation programs.

Persons with Disabilities Advisory Board
Purpose: To serve as a permanent committee of the Human Relations Commission and advise on special concerns of the disabled and the elderly.
Members: 12 (includes one Human Relations Commission member as ex-officio member)
Term: 3 years

Planning Commission
Purpose: To adopt and amend regulations governing subdivisions; to approve plats and recommend zoning changes.

Teen Council
Purpose: To provide opportunities for youth to move through their teen years connected to their community and its values. The Council encompasses the energy and dedication of youth, made possible through a partnership of the City, Olathe District Schools, and Kansas School for the Deaf.
