Celebrating Diversity and Honoring Unity will be the theme of the panel discussions, which will begin at 1 p.m. at MidAmerica Nazarene University's Bell Cultural Events Center, 2030 E. College Way, Olathe. The series is free and open to the public.

Developers, contractors, others involved in development in Olathe, and the general public are invited to a City of Olathe Board of Code Review meeting and public hearing in the first floor City of Governor's Room at Olathe City Hall, 100 E. Santa Fe.
At this meeting and public hearing the Board of Code Review will discuss issues related to the City's consideration of the adoption of the 2006 International Building Codes.

Learn about the rich history and contributions of African-Americans in Kansas and Olathe and promote cultural awareness and unity during the 2008 African-American History Month Lecture Series.
The sessions, presented by Mid-America Nazarene University and the City of Olathe, will be at the Bell Cultural Events Center, 2000 Pioneer Blvd., on the campus of the university. The sessions are free and open to the public.
Former Kansas City Lyric Opera resident baritone Brian Steele and a host of area operatic luminaries will join the Olathe Community Orchestra for a concert of pop and classical love songs at 2:00 on Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Grace United Methodist Church, 11485 Ridgeview Road in Olathe.
The free program, titled "The Food of Love," will feature Steele along with vocalists Katie Goyer, Laure Ronnebaum, and Paul Hartfield, and will include a complimentary punch-and-cookies reception at intermission.

Representatives from the Olathe Fire Department will be present during the Johnson County Health Department Multiphasic Clinics in Olathe to share fire and life safety information with Older Adults. At the event:
* Safety Packs will be given away to participants in our Injury Prevention Survey!
* Safety Packs will include items to immediately assist in the prevention of unintentional injuries.
* Completed surveys will also go into a drawing for several door prizes to be given away at each location!
City offices closed.
Residential trash, yard waste and curbside recycling collections will operate on normal schedule.
