The Olathe Police Department is partnering with the Kansas City Wizards and other KC Metro area police departments and drug free programs to provide a Drug Free Youth Night with the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday, April 12. The game begins at 7 p.m. at the Community America Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas, located near the Legends shopping center.

Representatives from the Olathe Fire Department will be present during the Johnson County Health Department Multiphasic Clinics in Olathe to share fire and life safety information with Older Adults. At the event:
* Safety Packs will be given away to participants in our Injury Prevention Survey!
* Safety Packs will include items to immediately assist in the prevention of unintentional injuries.
* Completed surveys will also go into a drawing for several door prizes to be given away at each location!

The awards recognize individuals and entities for meritorious service in the pursuit of cultural diversity and advocacy of human rights which benefit Olathe citizens. The theme of the event is "Diversity Makes the Difference."

Yen-Ping Chen, this year's winner of the Olathe Community Orchestra's high school concerto competition, is set to appear with the orchestra. A senior at Olathe Northwest High School, Yen-Ping will perform the first movement of the Concerto No. 3 in G by Mozart.

The City of Olathe and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce will host a reception to welcome Dr. Dan Richardson, Chief Executive Officer of the Kansas State Olathe Innovation Campus, his wife, Kathy, and the KOIC staff, to Olathe.
There will be brief welcoming remarks, beginning at 5 p.m. The reception is open to the public.
