Charro Jerry Diaz Don't miss the excitement as Charro Jerry Diaz (www.charrojerrydiaz.com) returns with his wife Staci, son Nicholas and their fine horses! Jerry Diaz is a fifth generaion charro and presents a dynamic horse show for the whole family to enjoy! They bring back new performances! Old west reenactor groups the Santa Fe Desperadoes and Gunsmoke and Petticoats set up camp for the weekend and provide lots of entertainment! Chris Camp, the Whip Guy Returning favorites include Annie Oakley, Frank Butler & Chris Camp, the Whip Guy (www.thewhipguy.com). On Saturday September 26, there is a Chuckwagon Cook Off the public can participate. The Chuckwagons will begin cooking in the morning and will provide samples of meat, beans, potatoes, bread, dessert and coffee. The cooking will be finished by 12:00pm on Saturday and the samples are first come first served! After you sample their tasty food, you can vote for your favorite on the back porch of the Mahaffie Home. Five Chuckwagons will be on hand to cook for you on Saturday only!  Some of the Chuckwagons are sponsored by the Olathe Sesquicentennial Commitee. Children's Activities

At the Wild West Show and Bullwhacker Days, kids of all ages can participate in lots of kids activities!

FREE activities, included with admission are: stagecoach rides brought to you by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitors Bureau. Chuckwagon Cook Off on Saturday brought to you by the Olathe Sesquiecentennial Committee, remember chuckwagons begin cooking at daybreak and will be finished by 12:00pm. Samples will be given on a first come first serve basis. The public can vote for their favorite categories off the back porch of the Mahaffie home. Food categories include: meat, potatoes, beans, bread, coffee and dessert. Little buckaroos weighing 50 pounds or less can ride a sheep during our Mutton Busting each day! Mutton Busting begins at 11:00am on Saturday and at 1pm on Sunday.  Little buckaroos must register on each day of the event. Please wear long pants, lone sleeve shirt and sturdy shoes to participate in Mutton Busting. Registration will open at 10:00am each day and each Mutton Busting event is limited to 50 buckaroos or less. Mutton Busting is brought to you by the Prairie Moon 4-H Club. The kids can also visit the Cowboy Camps, participate in contests with the Gunsmoke and Petticoats group, play 19th Century games, and meet lots of cowboys and horses. All of the arena entertainment, including Jerry Diaz, the Whip Guy, Annie Oakley and Frank Butler, and the Amazing Zeno Fire Eater Extraordinaire are INCLUDED with the admission fee.  

At the Wild West Show and Bullwhacker Days, kids of all ages can participate in lots of kids activities! Some carry extra fees such as: panning for REAL gold, an air gun shooting gallery for tumbleweeds ages 8 and up. There is leather stamping and a photography gallery where you can dress up like the cowboys and have your image preserved by photograph. Fees for each activity range from $2-$5 per activity. Tickets can be purchased at the Children's Mercantile on the grounds or at the gift shop in the Heritage Center.
