127th Street to Remain Closed through Start of School Year

Due to the inclement weather Olathe has experienced in recent weeks, construction on the 127th Street improvements has been delayed, and the street will not be open to traffic by the start of school on August 14th as originally expected.

Access to Olathe East High School is available via Greenwood Street and the signalized Access Road off  Black Bob Road (South of 127th Street).  Temporary crossing guards will be provided at the intersection of Black Bob and 127th Street throughout the duration of construction, and an officer will be on site monitoring traffic flow between the hours of 7:15 and 8:15 a.m. and also between 3 and 4 p.m. View Temporary Walking Map.

The City apologizes for the inconvenience and will have 127th street opened to traffic as soon as possible. For questions or concerns regarding the 127th Street project, contact Therese Mersmann at (913) 971-9032.
