2014 Proposed Budget and Capital Improvement Plan Presentations Posted
The City Manager presented the proposed 2014 Budget and 2014-2018 Capital Improvement Plan on June 19. The Council presentation and documents are posted on the Budget Planning website.
e-Town Hall Open for Questions!
Citizens have an opportunity to participate in the 2014 budget process as part of the third annual Budget e-Town Hall event. The event utilizes various forms of electronic communications and social media outreach including web-streamed video, a web forum, Facebook, Twitter (#OlatheBudget) and live television broadcast. The City Council will respond to questions live during the e-Town Hall broadcast/webcast on the Olathe Government Network (Comcast Channel 7 and AT&T Channel 99) on Tuesday, July 2 at 6:00 p.m.

2014 Olathe Chamber of Commerce Budget Presentation Posted
The Olathe Chamber of Commerce presented their proposed 2013 budget to the City Council at the May 15th meeting. Check out the budget and presentation on the budget planning website.
2014 Proposed Schedule of Fees & Charges Presentation & Supplemental Handout Posted
The Budget Office presented the proposed 2014 schedule of fees at the June 18th meeting. Check out the presentation and other proposed changes on the supplemental handout. Continued discussion on the proposed fees will occur at the City Council budget workshop on Tuesday, July 16th. The Council will make a final decision on fees after budget workshops and presentations throughout July.
The City of Olathe is producing and posting a new series of videos “Budget60” to review important budget topics in 60 second videos available on our the City’s homepage. Videos currently available include Budget60 – Street Maintenance Funding and Budget 60 – Strategic Financial Planning. Additional videos will be posted throughout the budget process.

The City Council will hold the next budget meeting at City Hall (100 E. Santa Fe) on Tuesday, July 2, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will begin with the e-Town Hall event and will be followed by a City Council budget workshop covering the 2014 General Fund Operating Budget and 2014-2018 Capital Improvement Plan.
