Save the Date!
The adoption of the 2014 Operating Budget and 2014-2018 Capital Improvement Plan is scheduled for the Tuesday, August 20th City Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Public Hearing Presentation Posted
The Olathe City Council held a public hearing at the August 7 City Council meeting for citizens to speak directly to the City Council regarding the 2014 Budget and Capital Improvement Plan. The presentation given before the hearing has been posted to the Budget Presentations page.
Special Election for Street Maintenance Sales Tax Scheduled
At the August 7 City Council meeting, the Olathe City Council voted to hold a mail-in election asking voters to approve a three-eighths cent, 10 year sales tax dedicated to street maintenance. Ballots will be mailed to voters on October 23, 2013 and will be due by November 12, 2013. 2014 Proposed Schedule of Fees & Charges and Explanations Posted
The Budget Office reviewed changes to the 2014 Proposed Schedule of Fees, originally presented June 18th, at the July 16th Council meeting. Check out the highlighted changes on the Workshop 2 Budget presentation or view the entire 2014 Proposed Schedule of Fees and Explanations. The Council will make a final decision on 2014 fees at the August 20 meeting.
Special Presentation on Street Maintenance Funding Posted
The City Council held a special meeting on Tuesday, July 9 to discuss the challenges of funding street maintenance in Olathe. The presentation from this special meeting is available on the Budget Presentations page and an Olathe e-News piece about the meeting is available here.
