Mahaffie Receives Grant from Woman's City Club of Greater Kansas City

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm, 1200 Kansas City Rd., Olathe, received a grant from the Woman’s City Club of Greater Kansas City. The $1250 grant will go towards Title I schools to help with transportation costs for field trips to Mahaffie. The grant amount allows for four $250 grants to be awarded for the 2012-2013 school year. Two grants will be awarded in the fall of 2012 and two grants will be awarded for spring of 2013. An application for the funds is required and grants will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.

Also, on Saturday March 24, Mahaffie participated in the Passport to Adventure Kick Off at Bass Pro Shops in Independence, MO. We had over 100 visitors stop by our booth to try their hand at grinding corn. Visitors also planted a sunflower seed to take home.
