Mahaffie participates in Patriot Days Parade in McLouth, KS

The stagecoach from Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm will participate in the Patriots Parade in McLouth, KS on Saturday April 21 at 1pm. The Patriots Day parade began in 2007 with the purpose of remembering our roots forged in the desire for freedom and the sacrifice made by our ancestors to provide it. Other events after the parade include Military memorabilia display and members from the Commanding General’s Color Guard from Fort Riley making an appearance. For more parade details:

Mahaffie's Spring Cemetery Tour Highlights Local History

Tickets are still available for the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Historic Site’s annual Spring Cemetery Tour.  Becca Rentaria, a student from Olathe North High School, will lead visitors through the historic Olathe Memorial Cemetery exploring the symbols, historical figures and landscapes of the cemetery.  Olathe Memorial Cemetery was established in 1865 and is located at 738 N. Chestnut St.
The Spring Cemetery Tour will be held Sunday, April 22 at 4:30 p.m.  The tour will meet at Northview Elementary, 905 N. Walker. The tour will require long periods of walking and refreshments will be provided. Tickets are $3/adults and $2/children ages 5-11.  Tickets may be purchased by calling the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm at (913) 971-5111 or by visiting the historic site, 1200 Kansas City Rd., Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Sunday noon to 4 p.m.

Spring Living History Weekends

Mahaffie will be open Saturday April 21 and Sunday April 22. Living History activities may include blacksmithing and stagecoach rides both days. On Saturday, a stagecoach passenger talk will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Admission is $6/adults, $4/children ages 5-11, Olathe residents receive $1 off. The Heritage Center only will be open Wednesdays through Fridays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plowin', Plantin' and Playin' on the Prairie is Saturday May 12. Visit for details.

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm Historic Site is operated by the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Olathe. Open hours, stagecoach operations, living history activities, special events and programs vary seasonally.  Access is limited in the winter months and the site is closed major holidays.
