Great weekend of Outreach Activities

On Friday April 27, around 200 visitors braved the Kansas wind and attended Hy-Vee for their evening activities for their Springtime Party contest. Mahaffie enjoyed bringing activities such as games, blacksmithing and Burt the horse pulling a two wheeled cart. The stagecoach visited the Ag Hall Fame in Bonner Springs, KS Saturday and their event had over 800 visitors. Mahaffie was also present at the Girl Scout Camptennial at Timber Ridge Adventure Center and had over 300 Girl Scouts visit their activitiy stations. Girls learned about Mahaffie activities and were able to pair up to be trained as a pair of oxen. The pictures shows Mahaffie Staff giving commands to 'oxen' in the yoke. Mollie the calf was successful at the Camptennial too.

Up to date photos of Living History activities are available on the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop Facebook page.
